Dancewear was established in 1993 and was originally based at
Cooleman Court at Weston .
In
2000, we moved to Phillip, so that we might also add a dance
studio thus becoming a one stop shop for dance activities in
Canberra. We have two resident dance schools based in our
Studio.
I have
been involved with the dance scene in Canberra for over 30yrs. I
have three daughters who danced, and this has put me in good
stead for the background knowledge of all dance related items.
When
TAPS was first established, there was very little competition in
Canberra, but over the years as Canberra has grown so has the
retail base. However, we have stayed ahead of the crowd simply
by supplying good old fashioned service along with knowledge and
understanding of the needs of local and interstate dancers.
We can
supply just about any dance school with their basic items, eg,
shoes, tights, leotards, skirts and hair accessories. But it
doesn't end there, many dance students do performance work,
whether it is in their end of year show or Eisteddfod
competition, auditions and local musicals, and the one thing
they have in common is the requirement for specialty items.
Therefore within our range we have: fancy leotards and body wear
including undergarments, a wide variety of skirts, warm up gear,
woollies and such, performance tights and leg wear, tiaras and
diamante combs, feathers, kilos of sequins for decoration,
beads, loose diamantes and diamante string, braids to decorate
tut-tus, lycra samples to help you choose your fabric. Lycra on
order takes only 3 days to reach Canberra. That way you can have
the colour of your choice. We stock Callisthenics items such as
Leg-Tan and stirrup tights.
