Rainbow Pines Tourist Park

 Lake Eucumbene

Rainbow Pines Tourist Park is situated on the shores of beautiful Lake  Eucumbene at Old Adaminaby, in the Snowy Mountains of NSW.

Lake Eucumbene is the largest man-made lake in the southern hemisphere and is part of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric scheme. Completed in May 1958, the lake has a shore line of approximately 150 miles or 240 km and stores about nine times the water in Sydney Harbour.

Lake Eucumbene is teeming with both Rainbow and Brown Trout, and is arguably one of the most famous trout fishing lakes in Australia.

Rainbow Pines Tourist Park is also a convenient place to stay if you're planning to do a bit of winter skiing or snow play at the nearby Selwyn Snowfields (a comfortable 40minutes drive away).

Rainbow Pines is a tourist haven, with breathtaking scenery and an emphasis on family holiday enjoyment.  Come and visit Rainbow Pines Tourist Park today!

A word from www.gungahlin.net

I have been visiting the Adaminaby region for over 25 years now.  The region holds a special part of my life, and I lived in Adaminaby and Cooma when I was growing up.  I personally think the Adaminaby region is the best in Australia.  It has 4 distinct seasons and the winter is a special time.  I vividly remember walking through the snow to catch the Adaminaby bus and head to school in Cooma.

Now I am older I visit the region as often as I can.  These days it is trout fishing that draws me there.  My dad and I can be seen many times each year sitting on the bank at Old Adaminaby in all weather (the snowy days are our favourite!).  We fish and chat, have a beer and talk about what the area would have been like before the lake was 'made'.  How the town of Adaminaby would have been - it's cinema, its Saturday night dances, its community spirit.

When ever we fish at Old Adaminaby we stay at Rainbow Pines Tourist Park.  We book a caravan (usually no. 15!).  We fish late, then head back up the bank to our carvan.  We know the van and park will always be clean, cosy and inviting.  The facilities at Rainbow Pines are fantastic.  There's nothing better than a hot shower and warm bed after a feeezing nights fishing.

We were last at Rainbow Pines in May 2005 and, as usual, the service and facilities were great - we just wish the fish were as accommodating!  We'll be back! -  Call Rainbow Pines Tourist Park on (02) 6454 2317 and tell them I sent you!
