Australian Breastfeeding Association
(Gungahlin Group)
The Australian Breastfeeding Association
(formerly Nursing Mother's Association of Australia) is a
voluntary self-help organisation which promotes and supports
breastfeeding. Whether a mother is awaiting the arrival of
her baby, is breastfeeding or has weaned (at any age) the
mother and her children are welcome at our meetings. We hold
most of our meetings in members' homes.
The Gungahlin group of ABA covers all
suburbs of Gungahlin as well as Hall, Yass, Murrumbateman,
Sutton, Gundaroo and Binalong.
The contacts for the Gungahlin group of
ABA are Lisa or Jodie. Lisa can be contacted on 6242 8040 and
Jodie can be contacted on 6242 0311. Both Lisa and Jodie are
trained breastfeeding counsellors.
Our fully trained breastfeeding
counsellors are experienced mothers who offer their
counselling services freely to members and non-members alike.
The ABA offers a 7 day 24 hour
breastfeeding helpline on 6258 8928.
The ABA also has a very informative website:
